Microsoft event for British Council

We have just completed the video edits of the event we produced for Microsoft for the Education Leaders Briefing. The event was produced by Merlin and also included some pre-event filming at Fulford School of the pupils learning on Microsoft products. The pupils were also invited down to the conference and asked to participate onstage (picture below)

The event was a great success, with lots of participant feedback saying it was a much more innovate approach to the conference this year. The event received lots of positive coverage on the #elb2012 twitter hashtag, which continued the debate into the BETT show over the week. For more, see our Case Study.

Merlin produces Alternative Travel Awards

London’s Hilton Metropole Edgware Rd was the setting for the annual Alternative Travel Awards, a tongue in cheek look back at the highs and lows of the year. Lots of cheeky video content was created – here’s a spoof of Masterchef for the Disaster Chef Award:

Bespoke corporate party in Guildford

Merlin produced a bespoke day and evening event for a company celebration at the new Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Guildford. The event was themed around magic, mindreading and cabaret, culminating in a spectacular ‘La Chic’ cabaret show. On arrival the guests were treated to an amazing Mind Reading show performed by Doug Segal. He taught the guests how to read body language, how to tell if people were lying, how to predict lottery numbers and much more..

The room was then transformed into an elegantly draped cabaret venue in readiness for the evening’s show. Guests were wowed with the transformation, set off with a Mongolian contortionist bending as they entered the room. The show continued with guests remembering their worst Christmas presents, which were then revealed to have been predicted by Doug on a giant scroll encased in a tube inside a locked box that had been hanging from the ceiling all day. A standing ovation!

The cabaret continued with outstanding performances by Maybe Gaga and dancers, Amelie Soleil and her burlesque shows, Yana and her hula hoops, Arron Sparks and his fabulous Yo-Yo’s and even a section where one of the directors sawed his P.A. in half!

The show concluded with a hilarious set from Pete Firman followed by Gaga leading the guests onto the dance floor to party into the night. Apparently the best party they ever had!

The Alternative Travel Awards

Merlin Productions are pleased to be involved in the production of the Alternative Travel Awards at the London Hilton Metropole on Thursday 15th December 2011. The event is a humourous and tongue in cheek take on the year in travel.

Last years theme was a spoof on the X Factor – the Y Factor. Please don’t judge :-)

Ford: Birmingham dealership event

Merlin ran a dealership event at Ford Birmingham Heartlands. Here both customers and staff had a chance to try the Park Assist Kinnect game. Staff were able to evaluate the game, and how it might be used in other dealerships.

Ford: Behind the scenes

A quick video behind the scenes of our recent Ford event at Potters Field by City Hall. Chris Evans was the focus for the PR launch for Ford, but we also devised a way of capturing Ford’s Kinnect game and the the action of the player, such that both were able to be viewed ‘picture-in-picture’. Gamers were invited to park a car using their hands in just 20 seconds. We were then able to upload these videos as they happened to a bespoke Youtube Channel. The various media and bloggers were then able to paste the videos of their games on Facebook immediately.

Park Assist launch event for Ford

Merlin produced a launch event for Ford in conjunction with the team at Hill & Knowlton. The event featured TV and Radio presenter Chris Evans trying out the Ford Park Assist – with no hands – as well as the interactive driving games.

The event was held at City Hall and was a huge success for both the press on online media, with articles in the Metro, as well as generating public awareness and interaction.
